“你们若奉我的名求什么,我必成就。你们若爱我,就必遵守我的命令。”约翰福音14:14, 15 {LHU 178.1}
If ye shall ask any thing in my name I will do it. If ye love me keep my commandments. John 14:14, 15. {LHU 178.1}
基督嘱咐祂的门徒“奉我的名”祈求。跟从基督的人,务要奉祂的名站在上帝面前。由于那为他们付出的牺牲、代价,他们在主的眼中才有价值。因为基督的义归于他们,他们才被视为宝贵。上帝因基督的缘故,赦免那些敬畏祂的人。上帝在他们身上看不到罪人的污秽,乃是看到他们所相信的主,就是祂儿子的模样。 {LHU 178.2}
“In my name,” Christ bade His disciples pray. In Christ’s name His followers are to stand before God. Through the value of the sacrifice made for them, they are of value in the Lord’s sight. Because of the imputed righteousness of Christ they are accounted precious. For Christ’s sake the Lord pardons those that fear Him. He does not see in them the vileness of the sinner. He recognizes in them the likeness of His Son, in whom they believe. {LHU 178.2}
上帝因祂的百姓把自己估价得太低很感失望。上帝愿意祂所拣选的子民,按着祂在他们身上所付的代价来估计自己。上帝是需要他们的,不然,祂就不会差遣祂的儿子,用这么大的代价,来救赎他们了。祂有用他们之处,所以当他们为荣耀祂的名而向祂作最高的要求时,祂是非常喜悦的。如果他们相信祂的应许,他们就可以希望成就更大的事。 {LHU 178.3}
The Lord is disappointed when His people place a low estimate upon themselves. He desires His chosen heritage to value themselves according to the price He has placed upon them. God wanted them, else He would not have sent His Son on such an expensive errand to redeem them. He has a use for them, and He is well pleased when they make the very highest demands upon Him, that they may glorify His name. They may expect larger things if they have faith in His promises. {LHU 178.3}
但是,奉基督的名祈求是富有意义的;它意味着接受祂的品格、表现祂的精神并作祂的工作。救主给我们的应许是有前提的。“你们如果爱我,”祂说,“就会遵守我的命令。”祂将人从罪中拯救出来,而非将人留在罪中。那爱祂的,将会以顺服来表现出对祂的的爱意。
But to pray in Christ’s name means much. It means that we are to accept His character, manifest His spirit, and work His works. The Saviour’s promise is given on condition. “If ye love me,” He says, “keep my commandments.” He saves men, not in sin, but from sin; and those who love Him will show their love by obedience. {LHU 178.4}
所有真实的顺从是发自内心。这是在心中与基督同工。并且,若我们愿意,祂会使思想和目的与祂一致,使我们的心志和意念也合乎祂的旨意,以致在我们顺从祂的时候,无非是在履行自己的意愿而已。这样,我们受了锻炼而成为圣洁的意志,就必以从事祂的工作为最大的喜乐。当我们尽量利用所有的机会去认识上帝时,我们的生活就必成为一种时常顺从的生活。借着敬重基督的品德,借着与上帝的交通,我们就必恨恶罪恶了。 {LHU 178.5}
All true obedience comes from the heart. It was heart work with Christ. And if we consent, He will so identify Himself with our thoughts and aims, so blend our hearts and minds into conformity to His will, that when obeying Him we shall be but carrying out our own impulses. The will, refined and sanctified, will find its highest delight in doing His service. When we know God as it is our privilege to know Him, our life will be a life of continual obedience. Through an appreciation of the character of Christ, through communion with God, sin will become hateful to us. {LHU 178.5}
基督在人性中,怎样依照律法而生活,我们把握住全能者的力量,则也能照样来生活。但是,我们不要把履行自己本分的责任,放在别人身上,并等候着别人告诉我们怎样行。我们不能依靠人的指教。主乐意把我们的本分教导我们,正如祂乐意教导别人一样。如果我们凭着信心到祂面前,祂必亲自向我们说明祂的奥秘。当上帝与我们亲近、交往像以诺一样时。我们的心就会常常火热起来。凡决心行上帝喜悦之事的人,把他们的事呈交在主面前之后,就必确知应取什么途径。而且他们非但要得着智慧,也要得着能力。顺从和服务的能力,都必照基督的应许赐给他们。 历代愿望, 677-679 {LHU 178.6}
As Christ lived the law in humanity, so we may do if we will take hold of the Strong for strength. But we are not to place the responsibility of our duty upon others, and wait for them to tell us what to do. We cannot depend for counsel upon humanity. The Lord will teach us our duty just as willingly as He will teach somebody else. If we come to Him in faith, He will speak His mysteries to us personally. Our hearts will often burn within us as One draws nigh to commune with us as He did with Enoch. Those who decide to do nothing in any line that will displease God will know, after presenting their case before Him, just what course to pursue. And they will receive not only wisdom, but strength. Power for obedience, for service, will be imparted to them, as Christ has promised (The Desire of Ages, 667, 668). {LHU 178.6}
