There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. John 4:7. {LHU 183.1}
他绝不丢弃一个没有价值的人，却向每一个人的身心施行医治。在无论哪一等人中，他总是宣示一种适合时代和情形的教训。人对于同类所表现的每一冷酷和侮辱的态度，只使他更觉得人类是何等的需要他神人的体贴而已。他总是努力激发那最粗暴、最无望的人，叫他们生出希望，保证他们可以达到毫无斑点、毫无邪念的地步，可以得到一种美善的品格，显为上帝的儿女。…… {LHU 183.2}
He [Christ] passed by no human being as worthless, but sought to apply the healing remedy to every soul. In whatever company He found Himself He presented a lesson appropriate to the time and the circumstances. Every neglect or insult shown by men to their fellowmen only made Him more conscious of their need of His divine-human sympathy. He sought to inspire with hope the roughest and most unpromising, setting before them the assurance that they might become blameless and harmless, attaining such a character as would make them manifest as the children of God.... {LHU 183.2}
耶稣虽是犹太人，仍然毫无顾忌地与撒玛利亚人联络，置本国法利赛人的习俗于不顾。不管法利赛人的成见若何，他却依然接受这等被鄙弃之人的款待。他在撒玛利亚人的屋中与他们同睡，在他们桌上同食──分享他们的手所预备的食物──在他们的街路上教训人，待他们以极真诚的友爱和礼貌。当他用这人类的同情之结，把他们的心与自己拉拢之时，他的神恩，也就连犹太人所拒绝的救法一同授给他们了。 {LHU 183.3}
Though He was a Jew, Jesus mingled freely with the Samaritans, setting at nought the Pharisaic customs of His nation. In face of their prejudices He accepted the hospitality of this despised people. He slept with them under their roofs, ate with them at their tables—partaking of the food prepared and served by their hands—taught in their streets, and treated them with the utmost kindness and courtesy. And while He drew their hearts to Him by the tie of human sympathy, His divine grace brought to them the salvation which the Jews rejected. {LHU 183.3}
基督不错过每一个传扬救恩的机会。且听他对那撒玛利亚妇人所说奇妙的话。当时他正坐在雅各井旁，恰巧有一个撒玛利亚妇人来打水。她听见这位生客说：“请给我水喝”时，就感到异常惊奇！他固然是要得到凉爽一饮，却也是要开一条路，藉以把生命的水赐给她。当下妇人说：“你既是犹太人，怎么向我一个撒玛利亚妇人要水喝呢？原来犹太人与撒玛利亚人没有来往。”耶稣回答说：“你若知道上帝的恩赐和对你说‘给我水喝’ 的是谁，你必早求他，他也必早给了你活水。” 约翰福音4:7-10 {LHU 183.4}
Christ neglected no opportunity of proclaiming the gospel of salvation. Listen to His wonderful words to that one woman of Samaria. He was sitting by Jacob’s well, as the woman came to draw water. To her surprise He asked a favor of her. “Give me to drink,” He said. He wanted a cool draft, and He wished also to open the way whereby He might give to her the water of life. “How is it,” said the woman, “that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.” Jesus answered, “If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water” (John 4:7-10).... {LHU 183.4}
基督对于这样的一个妇人，表示何等的关心啊！他所说的话，是何等的诚恳而亲切啊！那妇人听了他的话，就放下水瓶，到城里去对他所认识的人说：“你们来看，有一个人将我素来所行的一切事，都给我说出来了，莫非这就是基督吗？”于是圣经说：“那城里有好些撒玛利亚人信了耶稣。”至于这几句话，从那时直到现在所发生救人的影响，又有谁能计算呢？ {LHU 183.5}
How much interest Christ manifested in this one woman! How earnest and eloquent were His words! When the woman heard them, she left her waterpot, and went into the city, saying to her friends, “Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?” We read that “many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him” (verses 29, 39). And who can estimate the influence which these words have exerted for the saving of souls in the years that have passed since then? {LHU 183.5}
无论在什么地方，若有人情愿从心里接受真理，基督就情愿指导他们。他向他们显示那位观察人心的天父和他所悦纳的工作，对于这种人他就不用比喻，乃是要如同对井旁的撒玛利亚妇人一样说：“和你说话的就是他。” 服务真诠, 19-21 {LHU 183.6}
Wherever hearts are open to receive the truth, Christ is ready to instruct them. He reveals to them the Father, and the service acceptable to Him who reads the heart. For such He uses no parables. To them, as to the woman at the well, He says, “I that speak unto thee am he” (The Ministry of Healing, 25-28). {LHU 183.6}
